uring
the establishment of David as the new king of Israel, each
of the twelve tribes sent their "mighty men" to
assist in the unifying of the kingdom. These "mighty
men" all had unique abilities and skills. The tribe
of Issachar was represented by two hundred specialized
leaders, the "Sons of Issachar". Their specific
gift was that "they had understanding of the
times" and through this gift they knew "what
Israel ought to do". The "Sons of Issachar"
were prophetically gifted in insight and strategy and I’m
sure were invaluable to King David.
It
is my desire that The Issacharian Post serve in a similar
manner as the "sons of Issachar" did in David’s
time. Through the various ‘posts’ that will be
forthcoming, I believe the Lord will release both general
prophetic insight and strategy as well as geographically
specific insight and strategy. The words that the Lord
speaks over a city or country become a tool in themselves
with which to’ stand and fight ‘against the enemy.
Timing is the most difficult prophetic insight and, along
with many of you, I am going to continue to ask the Lord
to greatly help us in that area.
This
Issacharian Post will not contain the "full counsel
of God" as it relates to understanding our times. I
understand that it is from the vantage point of all the
"Sons of Issachar" in our generation that the
fuller picture can be seen. It is my hope and belief that
the prophetic words that are posted here will serve as a
useful piece of the puzzle that can be connected with the
rest of the pieces of the puzzle. Even when connected with
the bigger picture, the timing issue will still be rather
broad and inexact. Often the timing of the fulfillment of
a particular prophesy is still contingent on ongoing
factors, so therefore it becomes difficult to "nail
down". In much the same way that our last national
elections were supposed to be determined in one day, but
took weeks because of "ongoing factors", even so
there are ongoing prophetic dilemmas that are in place.
The
purpose of the prophetic is to stir a "God
desired" response in the hearers. For example, God
didn’t just want to inform Nineveh that they were going
to be destroyed. He was looking for a response of
repentance. Jonah was angry about his prophetic
credibility "being shot", but God was releasing
a word and an anointing through Jonah that stirred a
"God desired" response in the people of that
city. God was not concerned that Jonah might now be
considered a ‘false prophet’ because the doom he
prophesied did not come to pass. God was looking for a
heart response that would avert judgment.
Much
of the focus of the ongoing ‘posts’ will be to share
prophetic insights for specific cities and nations. It is
my desire that this site would grow into being a resource
center for these kinds of strategic prophetic words. The
purpose of these prophetic words will be to stir faith and
action in God’s people so that the desires of heaven
come to bear "on earth". You are welcome to
submit these sorts of prophetic words and I will release
those that I feel are of benefit to the Body of Christ.
As
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 13, "we see in part and
prophesy in part." All prophecy that is posted on
this site will obviously be "in part". All
prophecies will carry some conditional elements, whether
stated or not. Please feel free to share these prophetic
words with anyone they might benefit. My prayer is that
"the Issacharian Post" will be of service to the
entire Body of Christ and be greatly used by the Lord to
extend His Kingdom.
